Hi, could be great feature to have ability to make some analyzes of physical ethernet connections. Like in some pc bioses. Minimaly length of cable. And more which pairs are connected etc.
I agree had a problem with a CPE which had internet connectivity when plugged directly into a laptop but when connected into a internal 2.4ghz router for wi-fi in the household, lost internet connectivity after changing CPE, 2.4Ghz router and around to checking cable from CPE which had just one cable reversed cannot remember which one but I lost a lot of time on the installation, now if i have problems like this first check is cable and not replacing equipment.
I use a very cheap meter and perform the basic test as pin to pin continuity, open circuit, reversed, etc on the rj45’s
