WISP Question

Hello, we have a WISP in the Dominican Republic, and we’re working with MK since a couple months right now we’re designing the new network that can support around 1,000 customer’s with around 4 main sites, my question is how many costumer does a 532A with ubiquiti XR2 could support per minipci card?

My first suggestion would be to use different users per antenna, and I would prefer not to run more than 80 PPPoE sessions per wireless card, if possible. Also, not more than 200 PPPoE sessions per router, although I have seen routers with more than 200 sessions working fine (high CPU, but still works fine).

80 per card is pretty high. I think 40-45 works good for moderate traffic. If you want to get maximum bandwidth, then more like 25 per radio.

thanks for all the answer, the bandwidth will be 384k, and in other case 1.5mb, with this bandwidth how many costumer could handle the access point.

I would say in the 40-45 would do alright. But due to the nature of wifi, a few users can still bring base station to it’s knees. So it’s also a good idea to have good bandwidth management.
