wlan usb 2.0 ar5523 software for windows vista

i have a client who uses a wlan usb 2.0 indoors radio with dipole antenna(ar5523)with a laptop.the driver and utility software that came with this device was designed for windows me/2000/and xp, but the client uses window vista os.I tried downloading the driver for vista and it worked, but the signal strength was poor(client is less than 3miles from base station),just the same when he uses in-built wireless card in his laptop.i also can’t get a vista based utility software for the same device since the other one’s not working. Can someone please give me a useful solution to this.I use a mikrotik ase radio (2.4ghz b/g, 15dbi omni antenna).

What performance do you expect for an usb adapter with dipole at 3 miles away? It isn’t a problem of drivers.

I recommend you to use a 14db directional antenna with clear LOS.

windows drivers are made for indoor applications, it’s a wonder they work for distances of 200m.

hey, guy, can you tell me please where did your friend take the vista driver for AR5523? I’VE SEARCHED EVERYWHERE on the internet, but I couldn’t manage to came across it… Thanks for your feedback.
