Would like to use Mikrotik RouterBOARD Groove-52HPn and Routerboard 951

Would like to use Mikrotik RouterBOARD Groove-52HPn 600MHz Atheros, 64MB, 1 LAN,built-in 2.4/5.8GHz 802.11a/b/g/n with MikroTik RB951Ui-2HnD 5-Port Wireless AP 1000mW for wireless networking. Not sure where to start. Limited networking experience and need simple step by step instructions. Use Win7 on laptop. Have set up Engenius system few years back and would like to upgrade. Source of signal is business 200 yards away (I have permission to use) and engenius systems works fine and the hardware setup is not a problem for me. I have this antenna on the groove Engenius Outdoor High Gain 8dBi Omni Antenna (EAG-2408). If there are videos on youtube or manuals online that will help please advise. I found one Pakistan site with a helpful step by step for the groove.

If this is not the forum to ask for the basics then direct me to proper link please.

I have an identical hardware setup (on a sailboat) and am having problems getting this system to work. I’m wondering if you found a great site or video etc that answered your questions? I would appreciate any assistance as well. I have tried endlessly to make this work. I am on a sailboat in Mexico and using a mac. Please help!

hi,I have seven grove 52hpn, 28pieces - RB951ui and two RB2011hnd. Groove 52hpn can connect to 2011hnd (license 5 level) and work perfectly, but cannot connect to RB951. I tryed 10 days with different configurations: dhcp, static ip, router bridge and for me it is impossible to work groove 52hpn(level 3) as client (or bridge ) of the RB951ui(level 4). – For me it is a license issue

L3 does not allow to set ap. There is no problem with connecting L3 device as client to any other ap. Your problem surely lies elsewhere.

Yes I know L3 does not allow to set ap.
I have 7 pieces Groove 52HPn(level 3), when I try connect Groove 52HPn(level 3) as a client to RB951Ui-2HnD(level 4), no result- impossible, Groove blocking and I cannot login in Groove with Winbox and generate autosupout.rif file.
In the same time, if I connect the same router Groove 52HPn(level 3) with the same settings as a client to RB2011UAS-2hNd (level 5) or to linksys 54gl working perfectly.
I placed another RB951Ui-2HnD(level 4) in bridge mode as a client to another RB951Ui-2HnD(level 4) while to find solution. Distance is 250 meters.
May be no way for Groove 52HPn(level 3) to work as wifi client to RB951Ui-2HnD(level 4) !?

You need to check signal levels and wireless debug log. There in no problem with connecting L3 to L4.

Is it possible bad antenna quality. I use small D-link with N-male adapter

Everything is possible. But I have used the similar antenna with the same adapter and it worked fine. Try to change the antenna though.
