mipland , congratulations , impresive distance, great job
i have information about this type of can antenna ,and i have rebuild other’s manufacturers antena feeders from 1 to 2 polarizations , work great and used in my real working network without any problems, it can be used in N standart or in Nstream2 configuration , i dont know how much isolation is betwen 2 emiters in db, then one radio is enabled (16db card,30cm pigtail and 1m s400 cable conected with N conectors),other card show -35 db ,but with N standart, 2.4km distance ,2 26db 2 polarization antenas i reached rate 70mbps in and 70mbps out in ful duplex ,i think is good results
there a lot of information about can antena : http://www.h-online.com/features/Build-a-Wi-Fi-radio-relay-using-household-materials--/110278/0
i think its helpful for you and all
I have the same project. anyway, I want to build my own WISP somewhere in the philippines, I plan to cover all island in our place which Telco can’t provide internet access.
It would be neat to attempt a 70000km+ link and get it working, even if for only a few seconds.
It would probably require a different radio and a amp though.
hi
are u able to help to build a link 270km for us?
we are looking for a link between cyprus and lebanon.
please advice if u can establish this link
sam
That’s a great & clever job. Congras!! So, could you please, post the images again. I’m experiencing the same issues (a long link a way to 200km) that I believe you can help me with details. Your post went forward through the Mikrotik Support Team (as a good achievement) after my ticket request about devices options to solve this issue. I appreciate any contact about that.
It’s 344 km. I don’t know if it’s already been overcome. The route is almost entirely by sea. If Epomeo is low you could really try it from Vesuvius or from some mountain on the Sorrento Peninsula, such as Monte Cerreto which stands at 1,300 metres. Certainly the electromagnetic pollution on Monte Epomeo or Cerreto is not that of Limbara. I don’t know about Etna.
I was also thinking about Etna-Limbara but I think that at that point the problem could really be the curvature of the earth (608 km).
However, a wave guide could form on the sea surface but I don’t know if it is a sporadic phenomenon or occurs easily. Meanwhile, the world record would be broken.
Update: I’m wrong. Indeed, due to the curvature of the earth, it is not easy to go beyond 400 km unless you get very high on both sites, that is
at least 3000-4000 meters above sea level. I tried to do a kind of “simulation” with Google Earth for example between Monte Rosa and Monte Cinto (Corsica) (404 km) but this too would not be feasible due to the presence of a mountain range on the Ligurian coast which would block the view .
The one between Etna and Limbara would be completely impossible, given the distance and I hadn’t considered it, unless the radiation is really channeled into a sort of wave guide but I suppose this happens a few meters from the water …
Hello everyone. I would like to establish a wireless communication link spanning 100 kilometers. What methods are available for achieving this, and what hardware is required?
