X86 Hardware requirement as per the scenario

Hi all,

Thanks for all who views my blogs and reples me,Hope i’ll get the reply soon and thanks in advance.

I have to set-up a new MT server need to serve 3000 + customers as we have 200 Mbps IBW distributed among these customers.Can any body suggest the hardware requirement(CPU utilization must be less than 70% only) which can full-fill my requirement.

HDD:______________
ROS version:_____________
Ethernet controllers:_____________(i’m planning to install 4 gigabit nic cards instead of RG44GV card or realtek card ,any suggestion on this plan?)

With 200mb of traffic not much with an external radius server.

We have an external RADIUS server running.

You should be able to do a RB1100 or a PowerRouter 732 .. www.routerboard.com or www.mikrotikrouter.com

Hi,

I want to go for a Power Router 732,can anybody give the feedback about this product how the performance,upto how many pppoe customers it can handle with an external radius sever running,upto how much bandwidth it can support.

And also what is the cost of the router.

Just purchase an Axiomtek NA-820. Its the same thing as the PowerRouter 732, MikroNOC 2200, MikroCore 7, Roc-Box and other rebranded products.

Despite what anyone says, these boxes are all the same! The only difference between any of the products above is the reseller you purchase it from. You’re paying for their support, their varying levels of MikroTik / network expertise…not their own ‘secret sauce.’ But, don’t just take my word for it…

Even if you purchase a PowerRouter from LinkTechs, they’re don’t seem to be as stable as they claim.

Common denominator…the OS. They’re no more stable the OS that runs them, RouterOS.

Also, a bit odd these people are asking for community support instead receiving support from their vendor…
