x86 install - No default rules and mangle or bridge

Hello,

I have just installed the latest version of RouterOS (6.42.4) on a HP Proliant server. I am noticing that there are no firewall rules (/ip firewall filter) or mangle (ip firewall mangle) and I also noticed that there is no bridge set up. The installation works but there are absolutely no rules or fasttrack processing.

I installed the same RouterOS on another machine a few days ago and that one has all the rules/etc.

I have tried performing a reset-configuration but upon bootup, the RouterOS asks if I want to keep the default configuration or erase it. Either way, no firewall rules and other features are installed.

I have purchased licensing on both systems.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong here.

The configuration is blank correctly. None can predict how you will be using your server. Make the needed settings on your own.

To be less haiku - while hAP etc. are partially targeted to home users where just a handful of predictable setups is expected, so it makes sense to pre-define firewall rules providing security to users who don’t get too deep, the x86, CHR and larger hardware models are expected to be only used by network professionals who are able to set them up according to their application needs.
