I have customers that are unable to connect to groups of friends etc on XBOX live when it is internal to the network. They are on different Vlans internally but they both get NAT’d to the same Public IP. Is there a way to allow them to connect to one another with a UPNP? I tried setting this up earlier in the year but it didn’t resolve the issue.
I have a similar issue with mikrotik. Core router routes all of our /22 and /24 space. When we have to people on the same public subnet they can not connect unless through a third party? I have disabled all firewall rules, but no help.
No real answer for you, but I have 3 Xbox 360 in our house and have the same problem. Two of them will always be on moderate NAT and we can never play black ops together (for long). It must be a NAT issue, and a quick google throws up lots of solutions - but none ever worked for me.
I’m not sure. Try to setup hairpin NAT and see if that helps. If you think of each xbox as a server connecting to each other over Xbox live (public IPs) could make it an invalid connection on the same LAN.
Deleted because not related.
VLANs are not the problem in this situation. They are not trying to play a “LAN” game, they are trying to play over xbox live. The ideal fix would be to give each user their own public IP.
Ypu may not be able to implement it, but the following might help:

I tried this, no dice. I could try NAT’ing them to different public IP addresses.
edit: of note, I do not have enough public IP’s to do this to every single customer that wants it. We have a bunch of groups of friends, I’d say 20-30 or so.
Anyone ever find a solution?
Did you get this solved? If they are trying to play Xbox against/with each other then I also think its a loopback issue you have.
This is not resolved. The issue is that they can be in a group with each other if some third party creates the group, neither one of them can be the host of that group. parties in general can sometimes be an issue.
Either way a loopback issue with xbox live? the way i understand it the party is created on the xbox live side then handed off. its not a direct connection via internal LAN. I can communicate internally with all devices. IE their two laptops can ping each other etc. ITs directly related to being NAT’d out the same public IP i think. I have more IP’s I can Nat out, but have not been able to get around to it.
Hii all,
If my xbox turns on temporarily, then gets the 3 red rings with the 0002 error code, would it be the MOSFET? I find it weird that my xbox will work for a given amount of time, then get the error. Sometimes I can play without getting the error at all.
I already did the X-clamp modification and it didn’t change anything at all, so my next step would be replacing the MOSFET’s but I just want to make sure this is the issue. ![]()
Any updates on this? I as well am experiencing issues with XBOX 360 not being able to find files since the 6.7.0 update. I was hoping it would be resolved on 6.7.1 but was not, so unfortunately had to revert back to 6.6.0. Would be great to have it work on the newer versions. Thx in advance.
Guys. These people need UDP 3074 port to be opened. Different public IP tanslation to each client is good idea. You have to dstnat udp 3074 port to every client.
