xr3-3.5 card uses/license?

I’ve come across this card from Ubiquity but am looking for clarification for it’s uses. I know 3.65-3.7 (xr3-3.7 card) is licensed but I can’t find much information on this chunk of spectrum that doesn’t include 3.65-3.7.

Is anyone using this card or could anyone give me advice or direction on this particular piece of spectrum?

Thanks in advance

Where are you? In the United States of America you need to get a license from the FCC, which will be non-exclusive and general purpose, and cover all your 3.65 links, then you can use it. I think you are supposed to declare the coordinates, and possibly the power level, of all your links also, and whether they are point to point or point to multipoint.

This is from memory from a while ago, so double check on all that.

Sorry, Yes I am in the USA.

You’re saying that 3.65 encompasses the whole 3.5-3.7 spectrum and that it is not two sets? I’ve been searching hi and low but haven’t been able to definitely determine other than finding cards that are used in two different spectrum places.

Is anyone using spectrum below 3.65 (3.5-3.6 or so) and if so did they license it?

Oh, there is an extrememly narrow band starting at 3.65 for the usage I quoted. I’m not sure off hand what the licensing requirements are on either side of that band.

Have you checked at fcc.gov?

Try page 40 of this document:

http://www.fcc.gov/oet/spectrum/table/fcctable.pdf

found this on page 108:

5.433 In Regions 2 and 3, in the band 3400-3600 MHz the radiolocation service is allocated on a primary basis. However, all administrations operating radiolocation systems in this band are urged to cease operations by 1985. Thereafter, administrations shall take all practicable steps to protect the fixed-satellite service and coordination requirements shall not be imposed on the fixed-satellite service.

On page 40 is shows 5.431 in the 3.4-3.6 allocation. I’m assuming that is a fcc reference I found it further down but it only talks about Germany, Israel and UK.

I think I’m still in the dark for the legal uses of these MK cards in the US.

Any more advice?
