xr5 and xr2 in 532a

Has anyone used the xr5 or xr2 to fully populate a 532a with 502 daughterboard? Ie…4 xr5 in one 532a.

I looked but I have not found any mentions of using 4 on one board.

can not be done..WAY too much power draw. dont know if even 2 xr2’s would work on a 532

I have been doing some more research and looks like that maybe a 532-5 may work with 2. Looks like I am going to have to split my radios to be able to use these new cards.

Im able to run 2 2xr2’s successfully with normal uptime … the only drawback is self-interference … 2 powerful cards soo close to each other.

Oh forgot, im running a 48V (60 Watt) poe supply. Im sure less would suffice. I.e 48v (40 Watt)

I’m pretty sure the first generation r532’s would NOT run 2 400mw cards..or would but you would have issues (i still cant get 2 8602s to run in my 532 that is my router at home.)

I understnad that upgraded the Power supply in the new 400mhz 532

I am running RB532 using XR5 as well as an XR2.
Both are at full power.

I have found that if too close to a high power signal anywhere in the cards supported band, causes the card to draw too much power (particularilly when you are simultaneously broadcasting), and the RB’s will on occassion reboot.

That said, when removed from the proximity of another high level signal, they work great.
