Will MT be supporting Ubiquiti’s XR7 card?
Hi
Some friends told me that Ubiquiti’s XR7 are excellent option for MK.
But are they going to support it? And if so, when?
I would assume it already works. It should work the same way as an XR9. You select a 2.4 ghz channel and use the frequency chart to convert to 700mhz. Has anyone ever used an XR7?
I have a public safety office that was asking me about wireless access to their emergency vehicles and they asked about 700mhz. I didn’t know what was available for antennas and if the XR7 would work for them.
Any ideas?
Nope. I’ll run it by Ubiquiti as well.
Might just buy two cards and antenna’s and test. The cards are about $270 each.
Has anyone actually tested these yet? I’m still interested in how they perform and what kind of antennas are available.
I’ve got the card installed, but need to mount the antenna (bout 230’ up).
M2 Inc sells a 14Dbi yagi. We use quite a few of their m2-14’s and 17’s (900) with pretty good success.
Mike from UBNT says they work fine. Should start testing in a couple weeks.
Dont you need a license to use the 700mhz Frequency? not just just checking. Also how far will it go? Is it really that much better than 900mhz.. I can see where you would get away from interference though… However costly expense to do so. -Jordan
Not that I’m aware. Should go, based on terrain and elevation about 30-35 miles.

It is licensed in the US.
XR7 is not supported
i have 2 cards, the client doesnt registed with the AP, i tried all the frequencies on the chart, nothing worked.
i contract MT, they told me they need to test it, and they dont have cards.
i contacted Michael Ford from ubnt.com, he said he will test it and come back to me, since then i never heared from him!
let me know if anyone got this thing working.
Haven’t got my antenna’s up yet, but that is gonna suck. Those cards were $270 each + antenna’s.
any word from mt direct on supporting these?
what about under version 2.9 or version 3?
tks
Any more results since the last post about this? I’m still curious.
Curious here also.
Very poor results. Quarter mile away and signal was -87. Connected but browsing was very slow. Removed antenna from tower and will test elsewhere.
Worked great in my test office, but once deployed I couldn’t get much signal. Antenna was about 85 foot up. Same SR9 can hit about 4-5 miles pretty good.
Interesting, what type of antennas were you using? Noise floor? What was your exact configuration/setup?
The antenna’s are M2 14dBi Yagi’s (Horiz Polarity). The noise floor was about 100. No other 700 stuff anywhere near my equipment. Can’t remember what channels we tried, but I know we tried several.
Has anybody else had any success with the SR7?
are we talking about XR7 or SR7???
what is SR7 ???
thanks.
