Zabbix - Signal Strength Monitoring

So… I have experience with signal strength monitoring via SNMP. I have the OID details and I can monitor with other SNMP monitoring apps (i.e. PRTG).

I can also monitor memory and CPU information using the OID/SNMP. Signal Strength just does not work.

I would love to do this with Zabbix; has anyone had any luck with this?

Bump.

Very annoying issue.

For me it works perfectly fine. But you may be trying to do a different thing.
Is it a point-to-point link that you are monitoring or is it an AP with many connected users?
Do you use the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.14988.1.1.1.2.1.3 ?

Yes. The exact same OID set.

In fact, I run the snmpwalk command and get results.

I am requesting the info from a CPE (station) with one registered client; not the Access Point.

Can you screenshot your item configuration from Zabbix? Maybe there are some other configuration details I’m missing…

It is correct that you need to walk it because there are labels below this OID per connected station.
Maybe Zabbix is confused by the funny name (constructed out of the MAC I think) per connected peer.
I have no idea why this is used, but Ubiquiti does it as well.

Are you getting signal strength from the station end of the link using that OID?

I’m not sure what direction you are pointing me here… :frowning:

Bump.

Really need some help with this :frowning:
