Zero handoff - Wifi roaming possible?

I would like to join two overlapping APs to form one single WiFi network so that from client perspective there is only one AP.
Absolutely important for me is, that the clients NEVER have to disconnect/connect when moving from one AP to the other.
Ubiquiti calls that feature “Zero handoff”.
Is there something similar with Mikrotik?
Or maybe is WDS the same?
Or is a stupid repeater doing exactly that job?

Well would be even more awesome if a device can send and receive simultaneously to more than 1 physical ap considering it a single ap. something like synced ap placed in different locations working as 1

Ubiquiti had that, but no longer…

define disconnect/reconnect, most apps shouldn’t really notice disassociating/reassociating any more than they’d notice some noise in the ether

The problem is, that my iPad and my smartwatch both stay connected as long as possible to the old/weak AP before they finally switch over.
In the weak reception state, some apps and google services are not working reliable anymore (e.g. push notifications) and web-pages take long time to reload.
Further i want to avoiding any unnecessary wifi communication since my smartwatch battery drain is extremeley sensitive to any active communication.

By the way… Ubiquiti still supports that feature, don’t they?

You can kick off the devices with bad signal from the ap by the rules if they are so silly that do not want to roam on their own…

What rules do you mean?

ahh ok, thanks!
I’ll try that.

Hello Ubimikro, this solution worked for you, do I have the same problem?
