ZNYX ZX346Q

A client has just dropped a Nokia / Checkpoint box off and asked us to load RouterOS onto it.

The processor has been upgraded from the original PII to a PIV so I suspect it’ll fly once we’re done.

Problem is, I’ve got this four port ethernet card in the machine staring at me and I don’t know if it’s going to work. It’s a ZNYX ZX346Q. Does anyone know whether RouterOS will pick the card up?

I’m not keen on formatting the guy’s hard drive and then discovering that the card doesn’t work and that I’m then not able to reinstate his Checkpoint.

Get the harddrive out first, and then ghost it or make an image of it using dd on unix.
Then just install and se if it works, and if it does’nt you just restore the image…

Good plan, thanks.

The card works. Ether1 - 4 are all there and working.

add this to the hardwer support list in the wiki so people can see all supported hardwer as many people dont add it to the wiki

Nokia / Checkpoint box off and asked us to load RouterOS onto it.

Put a big MikroTik logo on it, so that people don’t think that the new non-crashing box is some other brand  people need to know their heroes, right ?

thats true but we as people working with the good product are working to get as much data uptodate so that mk team dont have to do all the paper work
