Have solved this by using one of our unix servers and running ddclient on it and ensuring the traffic travels through the mikrotik and the dynamic connection.
Now that fetch is available I am working on a script that will use remote web ip detection as well as standard updates - although I don’t know if SSL is supported. Obviously we’d rather people use our dynamic dns, but I will try to make the script as open as possible so others can modify and use whomever they wish. Look for an update in the next week or two.
Excuse me im a newbe in mikrotik and i have 2 routerboards point to point (ap and client) i would like to asign a ddns to each one and acces remotly by winbox anyone could help me how could i do it pls. right now i can login by mikrotik to the ap only with ip public and winbox i forwarded 8291 port from my dsl router to the ap’s ip
my wife busted a rib and tore a shoulder, so i’ve been short on time lately… the 1 year old takes priority : ) i will get back to this one shortly though now that we have better scripting support in these later versions.
