Zonedit Dynamic DNS Update Script

Hi all

Can somebody please help me with a script to update to http://www.zoneedit.com. I can’t get the dns-update util to work to them

http://www.zoneedit.com/auth/dynamic.html?host=hostname.domainname.zzz&dnsto=x.x.x.x

I can use this line in a browser to update my zone ip but need to do it automaticaly from the Mikrotik

Thanks

Zoneedit is not supported. You can use a changeip.com hostname and then point your zoneedit records as cnames to them if you wish.

Sam

Thank you for your help

Im sure this has changed now via the advent of the fetch command?

Anybody have a working script?

Or perhaps we just need to wait till they implement the wget command.

Have solved this by using one of our unix servers and running ddclient on it and ensuring the traffic travels through the mikrotik and the dynamic connection.

Now that fetch is available I am working on a script that will use remote web ip detection as well as standard updates - although I don’t know if SSL is supported. Obviously we’d rather people use our dynamic dns, but I will try to make the script as open as possible so others can modify and use whomever they wish. Look for an update in the next week or two.

Would be much appreciated, would be nice to remove the dependency of another machine for something as trivial as this!

Well i do understand wanting us too support chaneip.com , but hey im one of many that don’t like to change… :stuck_out_tongue:

To quote U2, “I still haven’t found what I’m looking for”

Sam, what is the progress on this?

Keep well.

my wife busted a rib and tore a shoulder, so i’ve been short on time lately… the 1 year old takes priority : ) i will get back to this one shortly though now that we have better scripting support in these later versions.

Family comes first so whenever you get the time.

Thanks
