Hi to all. I have connected ZTE MF667 3g usb modem to RB751G and most of the time modem is on GSM compact connection , how to force modem to use 3g HSDPA connection ?

The below is for Sierra Wireless modems but most share the same standard command set so ZTE modems may work with them.
AT!SELRAT? will return the current radio access technology (RAT). By default, it should be set to 00 - automatic.
AT!SELRAT=? will show what the modem can connect to.
To force it to use the RAT you’d prefer, use AT!SELRAT=XX ← the number from the above command you’d like.
3G will be under UMTS.
Thanks for replay but where do i type these commans ?
Go to the terminal and type:
/system serial-terminal usb1 channel=xx
Replace usb1 with the port the ZTE is plugged in to. Replace the XX with the info channel number.
I tried that buth I can’t write anything, only works CTRL-A and q to exit.

If it won’t let you type anything then you are trying the wrong channel.
Please attach a screenshot of the ppp-out1 interface (without the info box covering it).
Hi, here is screenshot.

Hi, here is screenshot 2.

I’m not sure why the info box will get the detail but accessing the channel direct won’t.
Until someone else who has this modem or another ZTE posts, the only think I can suggest is to just try again with a different channel from 0 up to how many the modems has.
Modem have 3 channel’s 0,1,2 and commands do not work with any.

You’ll have to send support file to MikroTik.
Before you do that though, can you put the modem in a Windows PC and use the ZTE connection software (if it exists) to issue AT commands?
Hi, I tried that this morning and it works, I put stic in my Windows pc and setup ZTE software and set it to use only 3g network. I put stic back to MT and for now use connections do not drops to gsm compact.

Hey,
any solution yet?

The solution was to put the modem into a Windows PC and make the changes there, then plug it back in the router.
Hey RogerWilco, thanks for your answer.
Could you please describe the procedure to do that for me please?
Actually I’m a Mac user, but I’ll use my friends computer wit OS Windows.
Thanks & Regards.
I don’t have a ZTE modem so I can’t offer much help. You need to download the ZTE dialler software. I don’t know what it is called - similar to Sierra Wireless Watcher.
You can then issue AT commands.
OR
You can let Windows install the drivers for it, use Device Manager to find the COM port and issue the command over that.
Hi, my ZTE modem has integrated software in itself from my provider , so I put modem in Windows install software run it and in software setup I clik to use only 3g network after that I put modem back in mikrotik. Now I always have 3g connection.
