Christian, that RB1200 has some age... leaving a device for so long without upgrading rises a lot the chances of problems, moreso if the device (hardware) is old.

How Old is it? ten years? ;)

Looks to me like a damaged main booter.

To fix:

1.- Connect a serial console to it, so that you can reach the booter prompt. (Cisco "baby-blue" serial cables work).
2.- Set it to boot from backup booter. (hit b)

From this step onwards, you should be able to access it via winbox.

You can also monitor it via serial, and force it to connect to netinstall: Use booter settings to set it to ether-boot. RB1200 should be connected to netinstall server via ether10 (labeled "boot").

FYI, 6.42.7 has been released:
*) upgrade - fixed RouterOS upgrade process from RouterOS v5;

To use Netinstall on any derivative of Linux Debian: (Ubuntu, Mint, Parrot, etc. Personally I use Deepin)
You must first install wine:

Open a terminal and install the repository key with the command

wget -nc https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/Release.key

Then

sudo apt-key add Release.key

Edit the sources.list through the terminal and add the repository

sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list

deb https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/debian/ sid main

sudo apt update

Here you can decide between installing the stable version or the last one in development or staging

sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-stable

sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-devel

sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-staging

Then run Netinstall:
Using the console Enter the directory where you have the file netinstall.exe

In my case:
cd /home/davo/win/MikroTik

Then you execute the following command:

gksu wine netinstall.exe

You will have Netinstall operating with all its functionalities.
