state of VXLAN?

Fri Jul 24, 2020 7:03 am

What's the state of VXLAN and/or what's the V7.0 target feature set?

More specifically, will we see BGP signaled VXLAN in V7.x?

Also, will VXLAN be CPU dependent or hw-offload?

By BGP signalled VXLAN, I assume you mean eVPN ??

If so, I _really_ want this feature. It would be one of my Top10 feature requests for RouterOS v7 in the medium term.

I'm more than sure it'll come, and it'll come soon. L3 offloading + vxlan + evpn = win for mikrotik. Lots of new money.

I really hope so. BGP EVPN and VxLAN would be an amazing combination for MikroTik.

We could also use Type 5 routes for VRF signalling and have a replacement for MPLS in certain use cases.
