Feature request for Atheros wireless: Airtime-based Queue Limit (AQL)

I built openwrt head last night when the final patches for AQL and the ath10k-ct landed. Oh! what a difference in bufferbloat-related performance! Where, on this purposely terrible link (12mbits or so), delays would spike past 4 seconds, and things like the babel routing protocol fail with any background load, now it holds things steady well below 60ms with totally solid throughput.

It would be great if MikroTik developers take a look whether the source or idea of the patch could be integrated into ROS wireless package as we could have so much better Atheros based wireless devices.

Mikrotik can provide two ROS 7.x builds to ARM devices e.g. wireless-testing which includes a driver based on ath10k/ct-smallbuffers and wireless-legacy which will continue to use the current driver until features like Capsman are supported by the new driver.

The migration process should export the basic parameters set by the user such as SSID, password, channel, network mode, etc while the advanced settings will be reset and replaced by the ones present in ath10k.

I know this will initially increase development costs due to additional testing before release but it can be more beneficial for Mikrotik in the long run (new features added to ath10k driver without requiring extra job from Mikrotik).
