VRF and DHCP?

Wed Apr 28, 2021 11:01 am

Not sure if this is a beta bug or i'm doing something very wrong, I suspect a bug because winbox crashes.

Essentially if I create a VRF on a 4011 running 7.1b5 and try to use the DHCP client on the interface winbox will crash the moment I goto ip > routes.

If I look at the routing table via the CLI it looks like the route added by DHCP ends up in the main table.
Also I couldn't seem to pass traffic within the VRF.

I've also commented about this issue in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=173952
That this may be caused by DHCP is new to me though.

Happens with newest available WinBox version (v3.27).

I think this is a bug in RouterOS, since routing does not work properly with the VRF. In my case it also doesn't matter if a DHCP server at the VRF interface is running.

Duplicate deleted, the tab hung and eventually threw a timeout error so I didn't think it had posted.

I ended up just using route tables and lookup rules, with a script to add the default route from DHCP into the secondary table.

I would prefer to use VRF as it would be cleaner but I couldn't get it to work.
