Wed Nov 07, 2007 5:50 pm

I have a running wifi hotspot using user-manager and all is working great.

ROS 2.9.48 with tree interfaces (Internet, Privat LAN, Hotspot)

User-managers Usersite working not from the Hotspot http://10.5.50.1/user..
ROS gives a Error 404...

The access from privat LAN works exellent (http://192.168.1.1/user) ....

But was is in the Hotspot fail ?

hi

since you have Hotspot all request to Port 80 are redirected to the hotspot portal, go to / ip services set www port=8081
this will change the port that mikrotik listens to for request to access the www service.

after that you have to login to the userpage using this address
http://your_router_ip_address:8081/userman
or to access the winbox page
http://your_router_ip_address:8081/

this will apply for all interfaces.

regards.

Hello,
This solution may work for some, I haven't had any luck yet, can only access the userman site from the WAN port. 2.9.48
It is starting to get quite frustrating because I would like to allow users to subscribe, but can only get "error 404: not found" messages.
Am I missing something basic? how do you allow the user manager services to run on the hotspot wlan interface without being intercepted by the hotspot?
Thanks much!

It is true, you are not able to access User-Manager interface from HotSpot address. Public address of the router should be used.
Walled-garden tool is required, when you want to assign access to resources without being logged to HotSpot.

Is this a bug?
If this changed in the coming Versions of ROS?

I would not really the www service opened to the outside?

Or can the Userman/Usermanager Service is not a separate Port,
so regardless of the Webbox?

No, it is not a bug, currently it is designed so (note, that it is possible to set firewall or 'address' restriction' in servic to allow access to www only from local network).

(note, that it is possible to set firewall or 'address' restriction' in servic to allow access to www only from local network).
But unfortunately, in the WWW service only a single network can be determined,
Either PrivateLan or hotspot,
Here, perhaps the entry of several networks possible.

But you have power of firewall available.
You may allow access for multiple subnets and drop others,
