Could not determine local IP address

Sun Jun 25, 2006 4:38 pm

I have setup user manager and after working thorugh the forum entries I have managed to get the user authenticating, but immediately afterwards the user disconnects with an error. In the Mikrotik logs I get an error stating"could not detect local IP address" eg:

16:25:30 pppoe,ppp,info <pppoe-0>: waiting for call...
16:25:30 pppoe,ppp,info <pppoe-davetest>: authenticated
16:25:30 pppoe,ppp,info,account davetest logged out, 1 114 84 9 9
16:25:30 pppoe, ppp, info <pppoe-davetest>: terminating... - could not determine local IP address

under user manager logs i get a normal entry eg: " subscriber=david user="davetest" user-orig="davetest" nas-port=37 nas-port-type=ethernet nas-port-id="ether2 - Internet" calling-station-id="00:0E:35:78:F1:FD" host-ip=1.0.0.14 status=authorization-success time=jun/25/2006 16:25:30"

I have tried specifying both a manual IP and a pool name in User Manager to no avail. What is strange is if I check under sessions in User Manager I can see the user has received a IP. eg

9 davetest 172.18.66.40 1.0.0.14 Jun/25/2006 16:16:15 Jun/25/2006 16:16:15 0s
10 davetest 172.18.66.40 1.0.0.14 Jun/25/2006 16:17:15 Jun/25/2006 16:17:16 0s
11 davetest 172.18.66.39 1.0.0.14 Jun/25/2006 16:25:30 Jun/25/2006 16:25:30 1s

Any feedback will be appreciated.

Thanks
David

You must set up a local IP in the defaul profile of the PPPoE server
