UM v6.28 All messed up (once again)

Tue May 19, 2015 2:05 am

Hey Mikrotik,
my sympathies and my best congratulations for your programmers.
Even If someone wants to, it is very very hard to find such a low low low low level "programmers" like the ones you employee
Trying to fix a bug and another two bugs come up.
You should change your Brand name. Drop Mikrotik. Use "Lernea Hydra" (Ancient Greek Mythology Monster)

ONCE AGAIN User Manager is a mess....

v6.28 was supposed to correct the "paypal problem"
the problem was corrected BUT......

Users cannot login because database is corrupted.
Though a user has a valid profile, all the other fields (start time, end time, time left, rate limit) are empty
and the user is unable to login (no valid profile found)
The same empty fields, after a couple of minutes, get values that belong to another profile.
The user can now login in anarchy with other profile's rate limits, drives me crazy
(Database rebuild is just a joke!!!!)

Are you guys going to be serious?
We have invested our good money to buy your "full of promises" products and all we have is bugs bugs bugs
Give us what we paid for, else stop selling until you have decent product

God, I'm tired, I'm angry, and I'm not going to use Mikrotiks again

No loss. Why deploy something that you haven't tested for your needs.

Seriously, if you could do better for cheaper, you would have. You chose Mikrotik because it has the most functionality of the product line vs cost. If you had unlimited money, you'd roll out Cisco.

Try to restore from the database backup. You have one, right? Database structure has not been changed for a long long time now, our local test and production UM databases did not show any problems after the upgrade.

This is what I'm talking about. Is this true that Mikrotik has the most functionality?
Or is it just a wish?

If I promise to you a ferrari will you be happy with a broken useless ferrari? Just because of the ferrari "idea"?

Yes, I chose Mikrotik because of the functionality vs cost.
If I dont get that functionality then I just get crap.

I did that many times and got again a corrupt database.

After several hours, I find out that, in order to have a successful database rebuild,
I must manually disconnect all HotSpot clients and perform rebuid with no active sessions in UM.
If I dont do that, after the rebuild, the users connect all with the same restrictions, as if they are all
granted the same profile.

The fact is that I'm not feeling safe any more with Mikrotik's radius server.

Anyway thanks for your reply
I appreciate it
