Prioritize bandwidth between private lan\wlan and guest wlan

Sat Oct 10, 2015 11:07 pm

Hi,
Playing with my new Mikrotik hAP Lite I've managed to create myself a guest wlan using this tutorial here http://www.wirelessinfo.be/index.php/mi ... pages/vap1 (thanks by the way).

I now have my private LAN\WLAN with 192.168.1.0/24 and a guest WLAN with 10.0.0.0/24 that cannot reach the private LAN\WLAN per firewall rules.

I'm looking for a way to prioritize the bandwidth for private LAN\WLAN clients when guests are also connected to the guest wlan, so private clients always have top priority in using the bandwidth.

How do I do this? Do I create queues for both private LAN\WLAN and guest with maximum bandwidth and use the priority field or is there another way?

I took a look at fast track and I don't think it suits me, first my router has v6.25 and as far as I understood, fast track is a way to accelerate the flow of packets by not processing them, in short terms.

Is there an alternative way of achieving what I want?
