Restoring Windows 7 PC

Sat Dec 19, 2015 1:53 am

**disclaimer** Total newb here.

So I installed the x86 system package onto a Win7 PC thinking it was required to run The Dude and when it next booted it tried to boot off the ethernet. Someone else brought up the boot options list to see the ethernet option listed twice and removed all the boot options from the list and now the PC simply reports there is no bootable device.

Can this be remedied by booting from a Win7 install disk and repairing the MBR or....?

Thanks in advance.

This most likely is FAR outside of the support of this forum.... especially because Installing the Dude Client WILL NOT wipe your hard drive.

In any event - let's try helping you here:

I would suggest first looking into the BIOS of the machine and seeing if there is an option to boot from the hard drive.
IF SO - use it.

IF the hard drive is not found via the BIOS - chances are it is a hardware failure - begin by checking cables and if that does not work - obtain a new hard drive.

Hope that helps
