Can someone help setup these routers with me

Thu Aug 18, 2016 12:25 am

Here is what i need

Wide area Network on 10.0.0.1 thru 10.0.0.200 Call it Central Router

Lan 1 and Central router are at the same localtion and Lan 2 and Lan 3 are connected back to the Central Router VIA ligowave PTP links all running on 10.0.0.50-10.0.0.55

Local Lan 1 192.168.1.1 Wan IP 10.0.0.2
Local Lan 2 192.168.0.1 Wan IP 10.0.0.3
Local Lan 3 192.168.2.1 Wan IP 10.0.0.4

I need the devices behind lan 2 and 3 to be able to communicate with one device behind Lan 1 using UDP on port 50000

I made a crude layout in paint maybe it will help

I am using the Mikrotik RB2011Ui AS-RM Routerboard with firmware 3.24

There are several ways you could do it with varying degrees of complexity. Unless there is more going on than you list here, your central router does not need to be a router - it could be a switch (either dumb or managed).
The high tech way to do it would be to create a VPN tunnel between router 2 & router 1, and also between router 3 & router 1. Then set up forwarding rule as to who is allowed to access the VPN. You could also setup a VLAN with forwarding rules for what devices are allowed on the VLAN. You could also set up NAT rules to forward the peer devices to some address on the 10.0.0.x WAN, and then in router 1 to forward those to LAN 1. Like I said, several ways to do it. Each provides varying degrees of complexity and security.
One other suggestion - just to make you life easier. I would change the IPs of your LANs a little so the 3rd octet matches the router number. For example:
Router 1 = 10.0.0.1 & 192.168.1.1
Router 2 = 10.0.0.2 & 192.168.2.1
Router 3 = 10.0.0.3 & 192.168.3.1
No point in having to remember something like "this is LAN 2 so it has 192.168.0.x addresses".

OKay so I will replace the central router with a switch and change the ip's like u suggested for simplicity sake.

Now as far as the config, yes thats all that is needed all the other devices need to be able to register with the master device at 192.168.1.10 on port 50000. so the simplier the better. I have all this running now with some el-cheapo netgear wnr100 routers but would like a better router as the wnr100 seems to like to get all jacked up any time we have a lightning storm they never die jsut have to be rebooted to start working again

I'm all for dumping Netgear..... but if you're having problems with equipment during lightning storms, do you have a UPS(s)? If not it might be a good thing to put in place.

Yes we use UPS's at all sites, the routers dont quit its like lightning EMF locks the router up where it has to be reset to start passing traffic again.

So make this simpilier can someone guide me to a setup for the rb2011

I have Router 1

WAN 10.0.0.2 Ether 1
Lan 192.168.2.1 Ether 2
device 192.168.2.10 Plugged into ether2
added route 192.168.3.0/24 gateway 10.0.0.3

Router 2

Wan 10.0.0.3 ether 1
Lan 192.168.3.1 ether 2
Device 192.168.3.10 plugged into ether2
added route 192.168.2.0 10.0.0.2

On both routers under NAT i have nothing under firewall I have nothing except the dummy for fasttrack it wont let me remove

on the Quickset page there is a Checkbox for NAT that is unchecked currently have tried it both ways with no sucess.

I have watched like 10 videos on static routes they all show using software not the actual equipment and have followed them step by step and have not got one yet to let me ping either direction I can ping locally but not across the network.

The 2 routers are connected on Ether port 1 of each to a dumb/unmanaged switch
