Help : RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT + Huawei E8372 USB modem configuration

Sun Oct 22, 2017 6:38 am

Help need from expert:

My devices :RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT + Huawei E8372 USB modem

I have setup this combination to enable all the LAN PCs to access to the internet but I fail to enable the access from the internet to access to one of my server on my LAN.

Below are the detail information:
1. My ISP public IP : 115.164.xx.xxx (This can be obtained from http://checkip.dyndns.org )
2. Huawei E8372 WAN IP : 10.64.xxx.xx (This was obtained from Device information from the USB stick setup webpage)
3. Huawei E8372 gateway : 192.168.8.1 (default)
3. RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT lte1 IP : 192.168.8.100/24 (This was obtained from /ip dhcp-client print)
4. RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT gateway : 192.168.88.1 (default)
5. My LAN server IP : 192.168.88.23 (let assume it obtained this IP from RB DHCP server)

My tests:
1. http://192.168.8.1 -> route me to Huawei E8372 setup page (correct)
2. http://10.64.xxx.xx -> also route me to Huawei E8372 setup page (???)
3. http://192.168.88.1 -> route me to RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT WebFig (correct)
4. http://192.168.8.100 -> also route me to RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT WebFig (???)

Expert advice is needed on how to configure this combination so that I can access my LAN server from internet. Thanks.

What you have explained here has nothing to do with accessing your LAN devices form WAN side. It seems, that you are probably double NAT-ed (1st NAT is on Huawei modem that gives IP addresses 192.168.8.0/24 and 2nd NAT is on MikroTik which gives addresses 192.168.88.0/24). You have to decide if you want to keep two NATs or for example set 192.168.88.0/24 (your actual LAN) as a DMZ on your Huawei modem. Depending on that:

1) if you decide to keep both NATs
set up port forwarding on your Huawei to your MikroTik (192.168.8.100)
set up port forwarding on MikroTik to desired device in your LAN (192.168.88.x)

2) if you decide to set DMZ on Huawei
set up port forwarding on MikroTik to desired device (192.168.88.x)

Then you can access that device from WAN side by the public address 115.164.xxx.xxx:port_you_forwarded

You can't access that address from your local network as it probably won't redirect you properly and you will see either Huawei or MiikroTik as a result.

Thanks a lot for the explanation and recomenendation but too bad I still cannot access my Synology NAS from the internet.

I choose the 2nd option - go for DMZ.
1. Disabled firewall, Disabled UPnP, Disabled wireless, Disabled SIP ALG and No entires on Virtual Server on Huawei E8372.
2. Enabled DMZ on Huawei E8372

Help me review my NAT setting.

Added 2 more screen shot on NAT - Port forwarding.
E.g. is based of FTP port forwarding.
