Bonding Mode 0 (balanced-rr)

Wed Jan 10, 2018 12:24 pm

Hi,

I want to connect my PC with a NAS with 2 x 1Gbit/s over CRS125-24G-1S (ROS 6.41). First I created bond0 with ether21+ether22 to NAs and bond1 with ether23+ether24 to the PC. I added these to a bridge. Result: 460Mbit/s real, expected: 2000Mbit/s
After some readings it is clear to me that balanced-rr needs the CPU and the switch-chip of CRS125 has only 1Gbit/s upstream to the CPU. So, the 460Mbit/s is explainable.
But how can I get a real 2Gbit/s connection over the CRS? I choosed balanced-rr because I want the throughput for a single connection (scp/rsync), so LACP won't give me any benefits. Any ideas?

E.g. Aruba networks (formerly HP Procurve).
I have good experience with them. They have features you expect from switches, and they do actually work.
