What product and set-up is needed?

Tue Jan 16, 2018 10:24 am

Good day everyone! Our company is planning to provide a wireless hotspot for our customer, and it would be up to 250 simultaneous connected users. And we are clueless on what hardware and model should we buy? Can anyone give us a rundown of all the hardware we need to purchase and probably software that will be using to accomplish that? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

It mainly depends on your topology. Will you use router + couple AP's or combo devices ( like 951 or HAP AC). Go for capsman setup + hotspot and you will be good to go.

Thanks for the response. Let's say I'm going to use the router + ap set-up. Can you recommend a model for router and ap that I can use to accommodate 200-300 simultaneous connected user?

There are way more clever people than me here, i.e. sindy, sebastia, zerobyte,..., but my suggestion will be:

For AP's, need more info, i.e. area size covered, indoor/outdoor, offices/open plan, etc

For router, I would think a RB3011 will be a minimum, next better one will be CCR1009

Thanks for the info! I guess I need to get the area first for me to be able to fully determine the needed AP. :)
