IPV6 and OVH

Thu Jan 25, 2018 8:36 pm

Hi

I am working with OVH and I have some server working under vmware with IPV6.

I tried to configure a mikrotik with IPV6 and it works local but the IPV6 gateway dont works

The configuration is simple, we have a /64 network, and the GW is a /56

example, for this IPV6 network 2001:41d0:1111:5678::/64

Ip for mikrotik 2001:41d0:1111:5678::1/64

Ip for Gateway 2001:41d0:1111:56ff:ff:ff:ff:ff

You need add a route to 2001:41d0:1111:56ff:ff:ff:ff:ff in the ipv6 interface or you can define the ip as /56 (work properly with linux)

If I define ipv6 as 2001:41d0:1111:5678::1/56, the mikrotik shows the gateway as reachable but it doesn't work

if I define the ipv6 as 2001:41d0:1111:5678::1/64, and add a route to 2001:41d0:1111:56ff:ff:ff:ff:ff, the mikrotik show the GW as unreachable

Can you help me?
Anyone install a mikrotik IPV6 in OVH server ?

Hey,
I encountered the same problem. You get allocated a /64 but the network OVH uses is a /56, so you need to change your IP address to 2001:41d0:1111:5678::/56 and set the IPv6 gateway to 2001:41d0:1111:56ff:ff:ff:ff:ff.

Good luck!
