Hotspot Beginner

Sun Apr 15, 2018 5:46 pm

Hi!

I am using latest bugfix on a RB951G
I am starting to use hotspot in order to learn how it works.

My setup

1) bridge-home with 192.168.1.0/24
2) bridge-guests with 192.168.4.0/24

I setup the hotspot to bridge-guests and lets name it HotspotHome
IP Filter and NAT is all disabled except from the dynamic hotspot rules and basic masquerating (src-nat from address 192.168.1.0/24 AND 192.168.4.0/24)

If I disable IP->Hotstpost->HotspotHome everything works fine.
From bridge-home I can browse the web interface of one wifi AP which is at 192.168.4.7 address.
If I enable IP->Hotstpost->HotspotHome I can't browse/ping or even ping it from the mikrotik!!!

I have tried 100 different approaches! I read all the dynamic hotspot rules in order to understand how the new chains are being used.

Please let me know what is the most appropriate way to allow access from one bridge not within hotspot to the other in the hotspot for only 192.168.4.2-192.168.4.19

Thanks!!!

Fixed it!!!

I had arp: reply-only on the bridge and while with hotspot disabled it worked fine (arp added from dhcp server)
with hotspot enabled it wasn't added!!!
