POE Mikrotik hEX lite (RB750r2) and Ubiquiti Unifi AP

Tue Aug 14, 2018 10:09 pm

I recently bought a Mikrotik hEX lite (RB750r2) to connect with an Ubiquiti Unifi AP (UAP).

Mikrotik hEX lite : https://mikrotik.com/product/RB750r2
Ubiquiti Unifi AP: https://www.ubnt.com/unifi/unifi-ap/

I would like to power up RB750r2 using the default Power Adapter, and then connect a POE cable to my Ubiquiti Unify AP.

Is that safe, considering the voltage?
If yes, it's plug&play or do I need to change any configuration?

Thanks,
Luciano

It depends which UAP you are using. Some will work from 24v power source and some need 48v power source.

From memory the UAP-AC-Lite and LR will power up from 24v and anything above that needs 48v (AC-Pro and onwards).

Hi Steveocee,

I'm using UniFi AP (UAP)
Power Method Passive Power over Ethernet (12-24V)
Power Supply 24V 0.5A PoE Adapter Included

Manual: https://dl.ubnt.com/guides/UniFi/UniFi_ ... _Guide.pdf

It should work, right?
