Mikrotik as Second Router

Wed Sep 05, 2018 1:03 am

Hello there,

I am very new to RouterOS and it seems that I can not find the solution to something very simple

This is the scenario:
  • A mikrotik router will be integrated into the current LAN to build a second vpn tunnel, for which the HEX-S model was purchased.
  • The mikrotik has its own WAN link (Static IP)
  • We have assigned a fixed IP within the current LAN for the LAN on the mikrotek (disabled de dhcp)
The problem is:
  • LAN hosts does not communicate with mikrotik
  • The mikrotik does not communicate with LAN hosts
Please indicate if you require more information
Thanks in advance

Hi.
  • LAN hosts does not communicate with mikrotik
  • The mikrotik does not communicate with LAN hosts
Did your routes set propely ? Did your firewall rules set properly ?
Without config, we can guess only...

If you have two routers in your net, and one of them is DHCP server, it will be the default gateway.
So clients will try to send all paced that are not med for local net to the one with DG.
On the router that is DG, you need to sett a static route for the net you like to reach that points to the MT router.
