PPPoE with Public IP

Wed Nov 14, 2018 4:27 pm

I've red thousands of topics and still can not get to the answer.

What I have:

ISP----Mikrotik----Clients

I have /27 IP from my ISP provider. 225 is the gateway, 226 is my router and 227 on my RM. 226 is added on the ether1 and on ether2 i have RM with 227 on the lan card. both ether are in same WAN bridge.
On ether3 I have bridged only network with pppoe clients. for now they are connecting and getting some 10.10.10.x/24 ip address. under NAT I have action srcnat, src address 10.10.10.0/24 and under action i have src-nat to address a.a.a.226.
Also I have hotspot running on that ether3 giving them some 172.16.16.0/24 IP that redirect to internal page. Just in case someone turn their DHCP and give free internet on the network :) (Not that you care about this)

So very simple network (maybe poor too) and (but) all works great.

Now what I am trying to do is to give some of the clients public IP. I dont care if it is trough pppoe or somehow, all I want is public ip (let say 228).
Help! :)

Just activate proxy-arp on wan and lan interface and then give those IP from PPPoE like a /32 type it in REMOTE ADDRESS when create pppoe users!

1. Do you want me activate proxy-arp on ether1 or on the bridge with ether1 and ether2?
2. I've put a.a.a.228 under remote address.
3. What should I put when I am making the profile assigned to that user under local address and remote address. For now I have a.a.a.226 under local and "public_pool" for remote. Public pool have 4 IP addresses 228, 229, 230 and 231.

Activate it on bridge and on interfaces.

When create profile as local address choose 10.10.10.1 and as remote create a pool with public IP. Or you can set them manualy when creating user as they are not to much!

Hi All,

Just registered to this forum and somehow I;m unable to create new post. So sorry to post it in this topic.

I got a issue on creating PPPOE in Bridge mode on my CCR1036. My scenario is i want to make my CCR1036 work like a switch where i pass all the DHCP IP from my WAN router through this mikrotik while my mikrotik still providing the PPPOE server service. Anyone manage to make it work or the PPPOE only can be done when mikrotik in router mode.

Looking forward the help from you guys. Thanks in advance.

Regards
Franky
