Please explain ingress priority

Could someone please elaborate on "ingress priority". I have read RouterOS manual, but it became not clear to me.

It seems clear, that "ingress priority" can be from 802.11 WMM or alternatively from 802.1q VLAN tags. But if these are missing, will higher level protocol priorities like MPLS priority and/or IP ToS/DSCP be included?

I know about mangle rules to set RouterOS priority explicitly from DSCP etc. But this is another topic. Setting priority "from DSCP high 3 bits" is clear. But what does "from DSCP" do? Priority has range 0..7, DSCP 0..63. This isn't matching!

Combining my two questions: will setting priority "from ingress" include DSCP if there is no WMM or 802.1q priority?

Well, in Winbox it seems that ingress_priority has a range of 0..63 and packet priority looks like a text field (so no numeric range) I just found out...

I guess setting priority "from ingress" copies DSCP value. But what if 802.1q or WMM priority is also present in the same packet? Which priority value will prevail?
