Problem with Basic VLAN setup

Wed Dec 26, 2018 6:33 pm

Hi all,

I'm new in the communicty and try to configure a very basic VLAN setup on my CRS125. It would be nice if you could explain me following problem.

I just want to have two ports of the switch configured to vlan30 as untagged (access port).

The CRS is running RouterOS v6.43.4 and from the documentation I thought that the master port config is not required anymore.

Config looks like this:

/interface ethernet switch vlan
add ports=ether22,ether24 vlan-id=30

/interface ethernet switch ingress-vlan-translation
add customer-vid=0 new-customer-vid=30 ports=ether22,ether24

This setup is not working unless I confugre any port with that VLAN as tagged.

I configured lots of Cisco devices in my life and there you need to create a l2 vlan and then add it to the ports.

Can somebody explain me in detail why the communication is not working for the setup without tagged port?

Thanks in advance.

The CRS1XX/2XX models do not have VLAN aware Bridges. This still has to be done the "old way" with the switch chip and switch menu.
