hAPlite bridge to CAPsMAN wirelessly?

Tue Feb 12, 2019 12:11 am

I have a few APs controlled by CAPsMAN.

I have another hAPlite which has 2 machines connected to ether2 and ether3.

I'd like to connect the 2 machines to my CAPsMAN ssid via the hAPlite.

I know I cannot use station pseudo bridge on the hAPlite because it won't connect to the CAPsMAN APs which are in AP mode.

I've read about using EoIP, but how can I connect the hAPlite to the CAPsMAN SSID?

Ideally I'd bridge the networks transparently, but I don't mind using NAT on the hAPlite if I have to keep a single MAC address exposed to the wireless network.

Any pointers appreciated. Thanks!

Connect your hAPlite by WDS to your router. Then all should work the same as cable connection.

Thanks Pea,

If I want the hAPlite to roam between APs, do I need to set up the same WDS config on each AP, or does it need to be a different?

I never had roaming station on WDS link.
But I guess it should be possible to set AP with wds-mode=dynamic-mesh which allows WDS links with devices (mode=station-wds) by creating required entries dynamically.
