Automatic unknown VLAN forwarding through trunk

Wed Mar 06, 2019 12:19 am

Hi. I have CCR -- CRS ----------- CRS -- CRS (...)
If I would like to use a VLAN defined/routed at CCR on last CRS, I have to fill this VLAN as tagged on all previous CRS's bridge VLAN table (on both interfaces where VLAN should be transported).
Is there a possibility to have VLAN defined on CCR and auto-forwarded through all CRS (trunks) to the every CRS including last, where VLAN is defined on a port as untaged?
I saw "trunk" mentioned in your documentation for grouping purpose only (to increase bandwidth), not as "simple trunk" (ie. path with tagged traffic only).
It seems to me nearly unusable on bigger LAN to use CSR317 without this autoforwarding. I saw "forward-unknown-vlan", but unable to use/test it on 6.42.12.
Thank you. Milan

Until vlan-filtering=yes is set, CCR/CRS forwards all unknown VLAN to every port. Once vlan-filtering=yes is set, it stops this auto-VLAN-forwarding and I have to define on all trunk ports every possible VLAN (as tagged) if I want to pass them through this port. I follow new configuration mentioned here: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:B ... _switching

Is there a possibility to use "forward-unknown-vlan=yes" on current long-term 6.42.12 (I know about security drawback, but also I would like to have easy-maintained network)?
