How to renew ip address when reconnecting pppoe

Mon Mar 18, 2019 5:58 pm

Hello, I've read a lot of threads, but I haven't find any solution to this problem.

I'm an isp provider and sometimes I've got some ips that are attacked and I have to release these ips manually.

When I try to reconnect a pppoe connection in active connections, always catch the same ip address, is there any way to catch the ip address dynamically?

Thanks, regards!

There is an option in PPPoE servers called "keepalive timeout" but it's not related with this problem...

I am little confused here. when you say "some ips that are attacked ", I assume they are public IP address
so you have a pool of public IP, they are not static to individual PPPoE client, and you want each PPPoE client to pick up a different public IP each time they connect?

I'd think proper / more firewall rule would resolve the issue of attack because another IP address would get attacked again .
just a thought. :D

I have a rule in another firewall that block the input for these ips attacked, for this reason I want to renew the ip addres when I reconnect a pppoe.

Thanks :)
