I have 6.29 currently on the RB450G and I am trying to upgrade it to 6.44.3. I have gone to systems > packages and hit the check for updates and hit the download and install buttons. the routeros-mipsbe-6.44.3.npk file is in the files window. i have rebooted the router but it doesn't install update. Is there anything else I am supposed to do?

Under systems > routerboard it says current firmware is 3.22. is this different firmware than the 6.29?

The firmware could be correct. They started the renumbering around that time, if I remember correctly.

There should be an entry in the log why it is not installing.

I had a HAPACLITE with this same issue. I had to do a netinstall. A note with netinstall, I had to disable all other ethernet interfaces on my PC (including eth interfaces for virtual machine software), except the one connected to the mtik.
