Are stateful firewall rules be applied to udp connections?

Thu Aug 08, 2019 7:46 am

Hi everybody, I wonder if UDP connections could be used in statefull firewall rules (at least checking connection state to be new). As far as I know established and related states and perhaps other ones are specific to TCP protocol but just read somewhere that UDP (and apparently TCP) connections could be tracked and tore down in a timely manner (specified by default in firewall settings). So any detailed explanation is appreciated to clear this out, and thanks in advance.

In RouterOS you operate with connection tracking entry states, not with TCP connection states..
With great knowledge comes great responsibility, because of ability to recognize id... incompetent people much faster.
