Private IP on WAN interface - how to NAT incoming traffic?

Wed Sep 04, 2019 10:06 am

My hAP ac lite has a static <private IP> address on the WAN interface behind which all outgoing traffic is masqueraded.
In order to be reachable via Internet, my ISP has reserved a <public IP address> from which he forwards all incoming traffic back to the mentioned <private IP>.
I'm new to Mikrotik and would appreciate a simple description of how to configure the corresponding NAT rule(s) and possibly other things to keep in mind in such a scenario.
Thanks for your attention.

You don't need to do anything. The ISP is effectively NAT'ing all traffic with a destination of WAN.IP to your local WAN IP.

There is nothing complex about the scenario or that needs doing out of the ordinary.

Oh, thanks a lot - will give it a try. I probably messed it up with my dstnat experiments :-)
