Samsung M2026W printer - capsman - 4 way handshake failure

Fri Nov 29, 2019 6:50 pm

I have a Samsung M2026W printer that used to work fine on my old router before update to Mikrotik

I have one HP AC2 as my main router and then two HAP AC lite hanging off in a Capsman config.

I cannot get the wireless printer to register on the network.

I tried all sorts.

Removed access lists (ie dont drop weak signals)
disabled all firewall rules
made various changes to the security of my capsman... adding/removing encryption and connection types
added and removed b/g/n network settings.

I'm at a loss really now. What constitutes a '4-way handshake failure'?

Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

To add, all three devices are at the latest stable; 6.45.7

Re: Samsung M2026W printer - capsman - 4 way handshake failure  [SOLVED]

Its because of the security configuration used.
Maybe the device does not support newer encryption algorithms...
What is the encryption you use ?

Thank you for replying, think I might have sorted it.

I had both aes ccm and tkip set for both encryption and group encryption.

No matter what combination I set it always seemed to fail.
So I decided to totally remove encryption options which left the SSID 'open'.
But this allowed the registration to complete ok.

Now the printer has a DHCP IP i've put aes ccm encryption back on and its seems ok.

Will monitor.

Thanks again...... your hint really helped.

I ve seen that too with older devices... no matter what encryption you choose or what combination you make, every time it simply fails...
