Networking beginner with packet forwarding issues

Mon Jan 13, 2020 10:56 pm

Hey guys, first of all I just wanted to say thanks for giving this a read.

I've received a MikroTik router and I've been reading for days on this, but I am still having problems.

I have a server with a VM on it with centos installed. I am trying to make it so that when someone pings/tries to connect to/generally sends packets to ports 25834-25899 on my external IP 188.88.93.91(random IP for explanation purposes), these get forwarded to the same port and IP of my virtual machine, for example purposes let's say it is 192.168.88.14.

So connection on external IP from 188.88.93.91:25834 to be forwarded to 192.168.88.14:25834, and so on until the port 25899

I tried to use exactly this, but it has not worked https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:I ... nation_NAT

I triple checked everything was correct. all port checker websites are showing it closed, and when trying to ping it, the port rule gets no packets

Hey. Try to nmap your tcp/udp port from outside, does your nat rule's counters incrementing? If yes, look for a running process on a server and it's firewall. If not - possibly this port been blocked before your router.
