Real simple router on mAP Lite

Fri Aug 14, 2020 11:14 pm

Hello all and already sorry for my noob-esque request,

I'm brand new to the wondrous world of MikroTik. Just got myself a mAP Lite, which is physically perfect for my current need which is basically creating a network composed of 1 ethernet device and several wireless devices. No internet access needed - it's a local network without internet. Pretend it's 1995.

This means, the ethernet port should be a LAN port, and DHCP and switching should be activated for that lonesome ethernet port and for wireless devices.

None of the quickset option seem to match this use case (all router options seem to use the ethernet port as WAN). I've tried to find somewhere to change the ethernet port from WAN to LAN, and I've tried to create a DHCP server and link it to the bridge that links the ethernet and wireless interface, but without success (I'm now rather proficient with the reset procedure :)).

So, questions :
- How do I change a port from WAN to LAN ?
- How do I set up a DHCP server for all interfaces ?
- Do I need a bridge in this specific setup ?

Thanks !
