Rb133C reset functions

Thu Jun 21, 2007 7:34 am

Hey Guys...

I accidentally disabled the ether1 interface on my Rb133C, and now I can't get into the serial connection to restore it.

How do I reset this?

I tried to put the reset jumper on, and then put the reset jumper on while pushing the button, powering up with the reset jumper on, powering up with the reset button pressed, nothing seems to do the trick.

Can any one tell me the correct way to make it reset back to factory specs so I can use the ether1 again?

Also...

How do you use the serial cable connection to these things?

I tried the same config that I use to reliable talk to the Rb532s, but on the RB133c, it just makes Hyperterminal crash.

I even tried the slower baud rate that is used with hRb200, with no success.

Can anyone explain that one for me?

Thanks for your input....

Adam

RB133c uses the same serial connection settings as RB500 series boards. Baud rate should be 115200

That's encouraging.

Now, If I can talk to my Rb532 without any problems, why does Hyperterminal decide to freeze when I try to talk to the Rb133c?

if you boot up RB133C with JP3 closed (shorted) then configuration must be erased, and board should not have any configuration on it. so check with mac-winbox is or is not that machine up and running.

had the same trouble! as you tried reseting did not work; the only way; get a null modem cable (both ends female) start hyper terminal in windows ; baudrate 115200 ; databits 8 stop bits:1 flow control: hw and connect; then power your rb on u will see the login info; if the config. is not important `system reset` will reset the board

I found that when I started the Hyperterminal in Windows to talk to the RouterBoard, the computer frequently froze when I tried to communicate it.

I didn't understand that, as I use the same hardware and configuration equipment to talk to the Rb532s. What is different about the Rb133s?

I wish that the jumper would reset the whole thing as expected with the Rb133s. That's just wishful thinking, though.

I'll plod along...

You should check the routerboard manual, but probably you need to set your hyperterminal to no flow control.

Ok. I will try that config change this week when back at the shop.

Do you think this is why the computer freezes with the Rb133c, but now with the Rb522?
