I've just got a L2TP VPN tunnel working on my RB850G. However, it will only resolve IP addresses over it. Is there a way to have is resolve server names?

There is a particular bit of software that I use that connects to an sql server over the L2TP tunnel using the IP which I have to take out the server name each time and put in the IP instead.

Is there a way to allow server name resolution over the tunnel?

What DNS server IP do clients get on the VPN?

The correct one of the dns server, and if i put in the hostname with my domain at the end of it, it will work, if i put in the ip it will work, but if i just put in the hostname......zero.,..nothing.

It is not possible to send a domain search list in PPP profiles (as it is with DHCP) so you will either need to manually configure the DNS search list in the client, or use the full domain name.
