MTU on CRS309-1G-8S+IN

Having issues with MTU on CRS309-1G-8S+IN
I set the interfaces to the max 10218, my windows hosts are set to 9014. I cannot ping either from windows or from the Mikrotik with mtu 9000 and df set. What gives?
