Simple setup as AP - ping from LAN fails

Thu Feb 25, 2021 3:50 pm

Hello,
as a newbie Mikrotik user of hAP ac2, I have a question on monitoring the AP.

My setup: cable modem -> Router-A ->hAP-ac2. That is to say my use is that of an Access Point.
Because of cable operator restrictions, the Router-A operates in gateway mode. The hAP-ac2 works in bridge mode.
In Router-A access rights are granted by MAC-address.
WLAN clients' access to LAN is working fine. However, when I ping AP-ac2 from the LAN side, I get a time out error..

Router Address: 192.168.1.1 on subnet 255.255.255.0
In -> IP -> Routes there is
a route '192.168.88.0/24 bridge reachable'.and
a route '0.0.0.0/0 GW=192.168.1.1 unreachable'.

What do I have to do to ping and monitor using SNMP?

Thanks and best regards

Change the hAP IP address to be in the subnet provided by the router (so 192.168.1.x, not the Mikrotik default of 192.168.88.x)
