SXT w/ EP06-AF - No Such Data Channel

Fri Mar 05, 2021 3:11 pm

I'm a newbie to the SXT and wanted to use it with a Band 13 modem for service on Verizon in the US. I installed the EC25-AF and upgraded ROS to 7.1b4. I have an activated SIM installed that I took out of a working device. I configured the APN.

When I look a the list of interfaces ppp-out1 is there, but when I try to enable it I get:

"Couldn't change Interface <ppp-out1> - no such data channel! (8)"

I tried changing the modem from auto to serial, but that didn't change the result.

Can anyone provide any tips to get this modem working?

Thanks!

AT+QCFG="usbnet" is a key here.

Do you read this?

Thank you.

Somehow I actually got it to recognize. I reflashed with ROS6, then back to 7.1b4 and it's recognized now. The issue now is that I have "network mode selection failed"

Firmware is EC25AFFAR07A13M4G. I did not tape any pins.

I did read through those threads and many others, but I don't understand where to enter the AT command you listed. Is it still necessary since the modem is recognized? Will that resolve the "network mode selection failed" error?

Thanks for your help!

So I was able to learn more about at-chat and determined that it's in MBIM mode:
output: +QCFG: "usbnet",2
OK
No change with the network mode selection error, though, and I've searched the forum for this error and not discovered any results.

Test the modem + RouterOS combo in ECM mode (AT+QCFG="usbnet",1).

Test the modem + RouterOS combo in ECM mode (AT+QCFG="usbnet",1).
Seems to be the same result:
06:56:34 lte,async lte1: sent AT+QCFG="usbnet",1
06:56:34 lte,async lte1: rcvd OK
06:56:35 interface,info lte1 link down
06:56:35 lte,debug lte1 mbim: <<< close
06:56:35 lte,packet,raw lte1 mbim: wdm <<< send #12
06:56:35 lte,packet,raw 02000000 0c000000 0c000000
06:56:35 lte,info lte1 mbim: error: wdm send failed: 19

Then:
07:02:07 lte,async,raw lte1: sent AT+QENG="servingcell"
07:02:07 lte,async,raw lte1: rcvd +QENG: "servingcell","NOCONN","LTE","FDD",311,480,FB6E41A,503,5230,13,3,3,66FE,-96,-6,-72,16,-
07:02:07 lte,async,raw lte1: sent AT+CSQ
07:02:07 lte,async,raw lte1: rcvd +CSQ: 20,99
07:02:10 lte,async,raw lte1: sent AT+QENG="servingcell"
07:02:10 lte,async,raw lte1: rcvd +QENG: "servingcell","NOCONN","LTE","FDD",311,480,FB6E41A,503,5230,13,3,3,66FE,-97,-6,-72,16,-
07:02:10 lte,async,raw lte1: sent AT+CSQ
07:02:10 lte,async,raw lte1: rcvd +CSQ: 20,99

Did you reboot? I have noticed after making changes, RouterOS requires reboot to make many things to work. I
If reboot does not fix your issue, reset config and do a setup from scratch.
If that does not work, downgrade to 6.48.1 and setup from scratch.

I have R11e-LTE6, EP06-A and EG25 working in ECM mode on 6.48.1 with AT&T on RouterOS 6.48.1. Modems R11e-LTE6 and EP06-A also worked with Visible (Verizon subsidiary). I have not tested EG25 with Visible yet.

After
AT+QCFG="usbnet",1 | AT+QCFG=\"usbnet\",1
we must always do a AT#REBOOT | system routerboard usb power-reset | system reboot
to activate a new way of using lte module.

Your logs show still MBIM
